Rm3.5mil to develop kajang a tourist
hub
kajang has the potential to become a tourist centre where the
federal government has allocated rm3.5mil for development. The
kajang municipal council (mpkj) has set up a cultural and tourism
committee to handle the project. The council would also use the
allocation to upgrade facilities.
according to deputy culture, arts and tourism
minister datuk dr ng yen yen, the commitee should come up
activities and programmes to promote the area. The committee could
start by tracing the history of kajang. Kajang is famed for its
satay and would organise an international satay conference soon to
promote kajang satay. The council had sent a research team to
indonesia to study the origins of satay and the historical places
of satay, and found out that the kajang satay sauce was a unique
creation. Furthermore, a museum satay would open in kajang next
year. Tourists would also be introduced to other places of interest
such as the gabai waterfalls and memorial sites with historical
significance.
