Tioman Marine Park, Tioman
The Tioman Marine Park comprises 9 islands of which Tioman is the
largest. The other islands in the Marine Park are Labas, Sepoi,
Gut, Tokong Berhara, Chebeh, Tulai, Sembilang and Seri Buat.
Majestic bays of golden sandy beaches are bathed by crystal clear
waters of the South China Sea. These islands are the perfect get
away from the hustle and bustle of the city life.
Scuba diving and snorkelling, two of the most popular
activities in the area, take you into a spectacular underwater
paradise. Off the rocky island of Labas a myriad of fine colourful
soft corals await the diver. At about 30m, Tiger Rock also boast a
spectacular array of coral reefs that any diver should not
miss.
 To the north of Tioman itself lays
'Magicienne Rock'. This reef, not visited too often by divers, is
home to a large number of ray fish. An average depth of about 10m
makes for easy yet Interesting diving.
Tioman Marine Park, the third marine park in
Malaysia, is also the largest. Its Headquarters located at Tanjong
Mesoh administers and manages the facility which is a centre for
marine education and research. It also functions as a public
education and awareness centre in the preservation of marine
life.
