coffee A classic Hainan-style coffee at Jalan Sultan Sulaiman in Kemaman is popular among dignitaries and tourists. According to Stanley Soon Suan, 35 who owns the Kedai Kopi Hai Peng, he learned to brew the kopi from his father in law, who came to Kemaman from Hainan in year 1935.

His father in law, Wong Sang Hai, 85, introduced the brew 60 years ago and it has since become a big draw a coffee lovers from all over the country as well as foreigners. The coffee is sold at RM1.90 per cup.

coffee1 Among VIP's who have visited the Kedai Kopi Hai Peng, were the Tengku Mahkota Pahang, Tengku Abdullah and former IGP Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Noor. The shop was also popular among tourist from Australia, Japan, Canada and Europe which an average of 1,500 customers patronised on the ground floor of a three - storey building in Jalan Sultan Sulaiman.
