Pisang GOreng
Surprise, surprise the ubiquitous Pisang GOreng or fried banana
fritters, which is so popular as tea time snacks and kuih kodok
(mashed banana), are actually nyonya "kuih".
A Nyonya only uses Pisang Rajah (King Bananas which
incidentally, are the most expensive and highly rated of Malaysian
bananas) for her fritters although the same cannot be said of
Cokodok uses all types of ripe bananas.
Aren't Pisang GOreng and cokodok a part of malay
spread? and so they are.the malay version of goreng pisang consists
of a far wider choice: ranging from pisang abu (ash banana) ,
pisang nangka (jackfruit banana), to the foot-long pisang tanduk
(horn banana) and rather provocatively named pisang awak (your
banana).
L malaysian style. You also can get the Pisang GOreng at
the hotels as a breakfast too. you can get the Pisang GOreng as
only 10 sen (cents).
