Roti Prata
Roti Prata, a crisp-crusty pancake without the toppings and served
with Curry gravy. The pleasure of this dish comes before the
consumption when the prata man flips the dough in the air until it
is paper-thin. The prata man will then fry the Roti Prata until it
is crispy. It is usually eaten with mutton or fish curries to
‘mop’ up the gravy and sometimes with a sprinkling of
sugar. Roti Prata is usually served for breakfast; diners tear them
into pieces and dip them in mild Curry gravy. You can also order
Roti Prata with onion, eggs or even banana as fillings. |
