Artiquarium

Artiquarium at medan tuanku abdul rahman, once a mansion. This old building has been lovingly restored and now houses a private art gallery and showroom for antiques from all over asia. The gracious ambience of the interior makes a perfect setting for a fine collection of paintings and asian "object d'art".

Asean Sculpture Garden

Just below the National Monument is the Asean Sculpture Garden where a collection of prize-winning sculptures by some of the finest artists in the asean region are dispalyed within a landscaped garden.

Asian Art Museum

University of malaya. Tel : 03-757 1066/1set up in 1973 the Asian Art Museum displays scrulptures, collections of textiles originating from various asian countries. The museum promotes research activities and contains some 2,000 volumes on asian art films, slides and pictures for research purposes.open : 8.45am - 4.45pm, monday - friday. 8.45am - 12.30pm, saturday. closed : public holidays, 12pm - 2pm, friday. Bank Negara Money Museum, Central Bank of Malaysia

Jalan Dato' Onn. Tel : 03-291 7461/290 7575Housed within the Central Bank Building, the Bank Negara Money Museum serves as a repository for the country's numismatic heritage. An important aik of the museum is to disseminate knowledge pertaining to the evolution of Malaysian currency through its exhibitions and publications. Coins, currency notes, tokens and other artifacts are displayed at the museum.Open : 9am - 4.30pm, Monday - Friday. 9am - 12pm, Saturday. Closed : Sunday and Public Holidays. Admission : Free

Biomedical Museum

Jalan Pahang. Tel : 03-298 6033. The Biomedical Museum of the institute of medical research which was established in 1983 records and displays medical research materials undertaken by the institude since its inception in 1900. Materials concerning public health problems in the country, current research activities and those pertaining to teaching, training and research are on display. Collections in the museum include Malaysian fauna of medical significance such as mammals, reptiles, insects and parasites.Open : 7.30am - 4.45pm, Monday to Friday 7.30am - 1.15pm, Saturday. Bird Park

Within walking distance from the orchid garden. Some of the world's More exotic species of our fine feathered friends grace the beautifully landscaped area, designed to bear a close likeness to nature with trees, flowering shrubs and miniature waterfalls. Admission : Adults RM3.00 Children RM1.00

National Mosque

The National Mosque is visible from the Railway Station, has folded umbrella-shaped roof and minaret measuring approximately 75 metres in height. Occupying about 7 hectares of prime land in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the mosque took three years to complete and was officially opened on august 27, 1965. visitors are required to observe a certain decorum upon entering the mosque, such as removing their shoes and wearing special robes provided at the entrance.

National Museum

Jalan damansara, Kuala Lumpur. Located in the fringe of taman tasik perdana (the Kuala Lumpur Lake Gardens), the National Museum is the principal museum in the country. It was set up in 1963 to serve as a repository of malaysia's rich cultural heritage and as the centre for imparting knowledge on the country's historical past. The various galleries housed within the museum provide Interesting insights into the country's development. They are the Historical Gallery, Metalwork and Musical Instruments Gallery, Cultural Gallery, National Sports Gallery and Natural History Gallery . Facilities include a conservation laboratory, a library with More than 6,500 titles catering to researchers, students, and individuals in the field of archaeology, ethnology, natural history and other similiar disciplines, and a photographic studio containing slides and negatives on various subjects of Interest to the museum. Thematic exhibitions are held from time to time. On the museums grounds are static displays including old locomotives, vintage cars and a replica of an ancient Malays palace. .Open from 9am to 6 pm daily. National Planetarium

Located within the scenic grounds of Lake Gardens. Tourist may visit the Space Theatre, Space Science Exhibition, Resource Centre, Viewing Gallery, Ancient Observatory Park and the Theatrette. National Science Centre

Parliament House

Standing on elevated ground commanding a panoramic view of the serence lake gardens, is the Parliament House whose foundation stone laid by the yang di pertuan agong in 1962. The 3-storey main building and adjoining 18-storey tower block house the two houses of parliament, a banquet hall, a library, various offices and committee rooms. Visitors may view parliamentary sessions by prior arrangement with the authorities, who will advise on protocol and dress code.

Petronas Twin Tower

Petronas Twin Tower is the tallest building in the world 451.9m high. Designed by architects cesar pelli & associates. A skyline links both towers at the 41st and 42nd level. Number of storeys are 88.
