Tanjung Pelindung,
Kuantan
During World War II Japanese troops landed at Teluk Tangkong in
Kuantan and frightened villages fled their homes taking refuge at a
hidden jungle coastal spot. The locals called this place Tanjung
Pelindung ('lindung' means refuge). This boulder strewn shady beach
is today a major attraction for campers and birdwatchers.

Turtle Sanctuary and Information
Center
The Turtle Sanctuary and Information Center is a protected area.
The center carry out turtle hatching programme, research and
provide educational information on turtles. This center was built
in 1997 on a 0.33 hectare site at Cherating, Pahang. This center
was opened to the public in june 1998 and is managed by the
department of fisheries malaysia with the cooperation of the state
government of Pahang darul makmur. Visiting hours : 8.30 am - 5.00
