Birch memorial clock
tower
this is a familiar and prominent landmark in ipoh. It is a clock
tower erected in memory of the late j.w.w birch, the first british
resident of perak who died in the line of duty at pasir salak on
2.11.1875. The square tower comprise a potrait bust and four panels
illustrating the growth of civilisation. |

Darul ridzuan
museum
situated at jalan panglima bukit gantang wahab the darul ridzuan
museum is the only museum in the city of ipoh. Built some 80 years
ago by rich tin miner, it now houses an interesting collection of
historical artifacts on tin mining, nature history and the city of
ipoh. Visitors to the museum can also explore an underground air
shelter within its premises which was built by the owner raid prior
during world war ii.
opening hours : 9.30am to 5pm (daily including public holidays)
closed on sunday. Admission is free.
