State Secretariat Building

On the landscaped hill overlooking Shah Alam town centre is the towering 24-storey Bangunan Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, built with elements of traditional Bugis design. It houses the State Secretariat and administrative offices of the state governemnt in attractive, scenic surroundings.

Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque

A trip to Shah Alam, the State Capital of Selangor, is never complete without a visit to the Sultan Sallahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah State mosque. Standing majestically on about 36 acres of beautiful scenic landscaped gardens and parkland, it is the largest mosque in the country. Incorporating the finest and unique blend of ethnic Malay and traditional Islamic architecture, the ‘Blue Mosque’ as it is often referred to, is dominated by the shimmering stately blue aluminium dome which is one of the largest in the world. The dome is capped with a rosette of quranic verses and enhanced with decorative Islamic calligraphy. Four minarets towering 142.3 metres surround the specially computer designed dome creating a truly spectacular and magnificent sight . Certainly a place not to be missed! Sultan Sulaiman Mosque

The stately Sultan Sulaiman Mosque in klang is a classic of islamic architecture, blending colonial and asian features for a unique and memorable image. It was presented by the british colonial administration to sultan sulaiman in the 19th century.

Sungai Batangsi Waterfalls

Sungai Dusun Rhino Conservation Centre

Located in sungai dusun, hulu Selangor, this unique rhinocerous conservation centre is managed by the department of wildlife and national parks malaysia. several programs are undertaken here to breed the sumatran rhino (dicerorhinos sumatrensis), which is a species protected by law throughout malaysia. This type of rhinocerous is the smallest of the five living rhinocerous in the world today, and it is one of the rarest and endangered species of large mammals. It is also the oldest rhinocerous in evolutionary terms. In appearance, it has a hairy coat and hairy ears. Sungai tekala recreation park

established since 1982, hutan lipur sungai tekala is located in hulu langat; about 14 km from semenyih and 9 km from kajang. The recreation park is one of the few nature hideouts here which has been developed into a lovely camp cum picnic site, perfect for short afternoon or weekend gateways. The crystal clear waters of the shallow sg. Tekala is ideal for bathing and there are basic changing facilities available for the convenience of visitors. The higher levels of the river lead up to a sparkling waterfall which cascade into a natural rock pool. Other facilities such as rest huts which make pleasent shelters from the hot sun and benches for you to rest are available.

Taman Alam (Nature Park)

This 800-acre park, located in Kuala Selangor is a haven for a wide varieties of floras and fauna. You will be able to spot wild animals in their surroundings, such as mammals like the smooth otter, leopard cat, silvered leaf-monkey and macaques; some 99 soecies of local birds, 57 migratory birds of which 26 are waders. There are also about 15 species of crabs, a variety of butterflies, insects, reptiles, molluscs and fish, and not to forget mud skippers, mud lobsters and king crabs. Taman Alam provides facilities such as parking lots, visitors centre, chalets and rest areas. The park has 6 nature trails. Do not forget to bring along your binoculars and camera with zoom-lens to view water birds from 2 bird hides overlooking the brackish lake system. One can also experience crossing the rope bridge situated at the far end of the Eagle's Trail. Taman Pertanian Malaysia (Malaysia Agriculture Park)

The Malaysia Agriculture Park is the only agro-forestry park in this part of the world. It was initiated by the Agriculture Ministry of Malaysia in 1986. The park is designed in such a way that it gives visitors a total experience of its natural attributes, scientic facilities and agricultural presentations. All these are set within a luscious tropical rain forest in a scenic 1,290-hectare site in Shah Alam. Its planners have in mind an open-air 'university' for the dual purpose of recreation and education. Here's place to learn all about trees by their names! Templer's Park

Set in a backdrop of lush green forest and limestone hills, Templer Park is just 20 km North of Kuala Lumpur off the North-South Highway. Templer Park consists of 500 hectars of forest, rich in Malaysian flora and fauna including a large variety of butterflies and other insects, birds and monkeys. A swimming pool, filled by the water of a natural stream, is one of the attractions, as are walks in the forest.
