Kertuk Kelapa
Kertuk kelapa is mostly used in one of the local games called Kertuk Kelapa Game. Its origin is from the northern Malaysia. Generally, this instrument uses empty coconuts which operate as resonators. A hole is cut out on the surface of the dry coconut. A piece of Belira wood is attached to the top of the coconut. This wood is covered with soft materials like rubber, strings and others. The function of this wood is as a sounding body for the instrument. Kertuk kelapa is struck with a mallet that is woven with wool to produce a loud and long echo. The kertuk kelapa game is normally played in groups as a past time or for celebrations.
