 Pandanus Weaving
Fingerworks with skill and patience can turn humble rushes into objects of delight.
Tall, slender thorny leaves of mengkuang and pandan (came from the pandanus family) are weaved into various of functional handicrafts such as baskets, bags, slippers, food covers, mats, etc. Mengkuang products have bigger weave while products made from pandan leaves have a finer weave and look smooth, shiny and cost slightly more expensive.
